Slacker ...

Yes, I have completely neglected my blog for quite some time now. Tisk Tisk. Well here's the update:

Aiden had his 18 month check-up yesterday. Doctor said he is in the 98th% for height (forgot the exact number of inches), for those of you that don't speak growth chart he is the average height of a two and a half year old! GASP! I knew he was a tall but man oh a man a whole "year" taller then average, wowza. He's 27.8 lbs, I'm so not ready to say goodbye to the jelly rolls and baby fat! :-( BRAGGING ALERT!: On an intellectual level he is way above average and has the vocabulary and memorization skills of a child nearly twice his age!!! Granted every momma thinks the best of her munchkin I was floored when the doc said that ::beams with pride:: So what will Aiden, Baby Genius, be doing with his time now that he's deemed extraordinary ... enjoying his recent Thomas obsession, advancing ever so quickly into the terrible twos (tantrums and all YUCK), and GASP potty training!

Cara is tipping the scales at close to 4lbs these days and still packing them on IN UTERO woohooo!!! That's right doctors, 26 weeks my arse we make it to 31! Of course momma's gotta shoot for the stars and won't settle for anything less then 36 so no funny business in there, and if you could lay off the rib cage that would great too. Kay thanks. We thank each and every one of you that has kept our princess (yes I am slowly coming to terms with handing over my title) in your prayers.

I will return later in the day to add a few ultrasound photos (she has the same chubby cheeks as her big brother!) and the belly pictures I have been hounded for (you know who you are), but as for now I have a little boy demanding his Saturday morning pancake feast :-) yummmmm

VIABILITY!

Miss Cara Jayce is officially 24 weeks old and is VIABLE!

We had our 24 week appointment today and began FFN testing but will not have the results until Monday/Tuesday. Sadly should the test show up positive meaning i have a decent chance of going into labor in the next two weeks i will be put on complete bed test. I am having a little panic attack thinking about how i am going to manage that with Aidy face as active as ever! I am not sure if I am in denial or simply at peace knowing that the Lord will keep Miss Cara safe wherever he might see fit, but i have been filled with a strange feeling of confidence and trust.

We will be starting appointment every two weeks from here on in.

And to brighten the mood a bit here is a tid bit from Aiden in closing . . .

The NEW Ice Cream & Pickles

Yep, count those suckers... 12!
I am officially pregnant, 12 Slim Jims and a glass of milk.
Funny thing is that just the other day Eddie and I were pondering over the fact that i had not had any fun and weird cravings courtesy of Miss Cara. On the other hand she has completely robbed me of brain function as it took me three tries to remember the correct spelling of "courtesy"
::sigh::
Now would anyone be kind enough to explain to me how i could crave raspberries at 2am with Aiden and ultimately gain 60lbs but for some reason i can consume 12 slim jims and still barely be making my minimum weight quota.
The miracles of pregnancy never cease to amaze me!

And here's a 21 week belly picture for good measure . . .

HELP! . . .

someone kidnapped my darling son and replaced him with a small demonic banshee! After a fun morning of playing at the library
(he is a

Lego

junkie just

like his

daddy)
and running a few errands my child's generally pleasant demeanor fled to a tropic location and left me with . . . with . . . aw heck i can't even find words to explain the awful tude Aiden had today. i know this teething thing is rough but this was monumental.

I did get a few new bows done today! YAY!!!

Just another Friday

Another Friday in the Torres home . . .

Aiden is cutting some MORE teeth, the count is standing at 10 thus far while we wait patiently on these pearly whites. We got to take him sledding this week in his new sled from Aunt Jen and Uncle Joe!!! It was quite a blast but as much as he loved wizzing down the hills my little gavone was content just shoveling snow . . . into his mouth. We had a little bit of a chat about the staying away from the yellow stuff and took advantage of some cute photo-ops.

Things are slowly coming together in the kids' room. We finally got our hand's on the missing "D" for Aiden's name but have yet to get Cara a crib mattress. Heres a little sneek peak (we borrowed Aiden's mattress to get a good look at the "finished product")

Little Miss Cara Jayce is still baking away and was an entire POUUND at our 20 week appointment! Aiden is having a hard time realizing he has a baby sister growing in Mommy's tummy and not a pillow. Although i sure can understand why he would be confused . . .

IT'S A GIRL!

We found out on December 30th that we have a little princess baking! The Placenta has moved up but now we are beginning the turmoils of pre-term labor. Thankfully the contractions are not causing my cervix to dilate but but are none-the-less cause for concern and will be monitored closely by Dr. W. We are awaiting the 20 week anatomy scan on Thursday and starting at our 24 weeks appointment will begin the FFN test to monitor the likelihood of true pre-term labor. Please keep your fingers crossed and prayers coming that this little girl is given plenty more time to bake and become a big and healthy baby! We have chosen Cara Jayce as her name and as excited as we are to meet her have no problem waiting until June.

Aiden celebrated his 16 month birthday on New Years Day and sure has a lot to say about it! He is talking up a storm and adds new words to his vocabulary by the day. He looks more and more like a little boy every day with all the personality boy-hood has to offer. =)
